15 Steps: Conditional Pass or Needs Review?
“Conditional pass” means a particular check met agreed needs at the time of the trial, not our certification of the unit. Keep original photos/reports, dates, settings and seller replies. If evidence is missing, mark it unchecked.
1. Physical condition
Evidence/how to check: With permission, photograph the case, screws, hinges and corners. Match them to the seller’s defect photos and description.

2. Screen
Evidence/how to check: Show light and dark backgrounds at normal brightness. Check pixels, patches, lines and flicker; capture photos with the settings.

6. USB and HDMI ports
Evidence/how to check: With permission, try a test drive without personal data and an external display if available. Check USB-C data, video and power separately.

7. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

11. Heat and fans

12. Charger

Battery Report: Estimated Capacity, Not Promised Runtime
With the owner’s permission, generate a report in Command Prompt: powercfg /batteryreport. Open the HTML file at the displayed location. Request a report from the unit being sold with a clear date; do not publish report serial numbers or personal details. Official Microsoft guide.
